I didn’t know that this blog has an RSS feed built into it. Just add www.benwoodbury.com to your Google Reader on your iGoogle page and it shows up there. This works for some or all other websites that are built on blog technology.

This is a test of the aside format. The title doesn’t print … which is a good thing. The type is a bit small … which isn’t. It doesn’t display categories or tags … not sure about this. Time to hack?
My friend Karen has a gift. Unlike most of those “funny” emails that find their way into my email inbox, many of the ones she sends are actually amusing. It’s refreshing. Usually they are sent to my wife because they are at the expense of us husbands. Never the less, some of them are hilarious.
Most aren’t appropriate for me to admit liking, so I can’t republish them here. But some of them skirt just on the right side of the edge. I will post those.
You can find them by clicking on the “karen” tag in the lower right.
Also, as part of my Social Networking Project, I’m going to see if I can add some of this post to the description area of the “karen” tag so that it will introduce the section when you use the tag to search.

I just hacked the last little piece of WordPress that I’ve been trying to figure out. Posts with a Category of “Muted” will no longer show on my home page. This will enable me to post some content without clogging the main page.
You might ask, as I do, whether if it isn’t worth appearing on the home page, is it worth posting at all?
Time will answer this.

I’m trying to decide if blog posts should be signed. A nice little: Ben at the end? I started doing it that way. Then those really short posts ended up too long. So I took them off.
Now I’m beginning to think that the ones that express some sort of editorial opinion (we need to talk about those later) should be signed. Maybe the shorter ones don’t need to be. I might change it up a bit.

OK. The technology behind this blog is working pretty well. But I still have some issues with the layout. The category thing is nice, but what I really need is a header that always displays at the top of each category page. Maybe a description of the category so I can explain what the page is about.
Oh, wait, maybe I should try adding a description to the category.
Never mind. Somebody already thought of it.
